Battle of the Books

Seventeen fifth-graders competed in this year's Battle of Books. After reading the books Maze of Bones, The Westing Game and The Gollywhopper Games earlier this year, students competed in teams to complete challenges, like unscrambling character names and completing sudoku puzzles. Congratulations to Mr. Kosinski and Mrs. Djakovich's teams, this year's champions. At this morning's award ceremony, the champions were given trophies and all participating students were given goody bags and a book of their choice. Congratulations to all students who competed in this year's Battle of the Books!

Breakfast with the Principal

Twenty-five students attended a special “Breakfast with the Principal” this morning for earning 200 points or more, the highest recognition level in our AR program. This year’s breakfast was held at Monkey See Monkey Do... Children’s Bookstore in Clarence, where students enjoyed breakfast, learned about how a picture book is created from local children’s author Maria T. DiVencenzo, and selected a book to add to their home library. Congratulations, students!
