Final Family Library Night of the Year
Please join us this Wednesday, April 23rd from 4-6pm for our final Family Library Night of the year. Families may check out up to five library books, as well as choose free books to keep at home. Arts and crafts and games will also be available for families to enjoy together. Our guest reader, third-grade teacher Mrs. Knaub, will present the book 7 x 9 = Trouble by Claudia Mills. The PTO meeting will follow in the library at 6pm. We hope to see you there!

AR Goals for Marking Period 2
Students have been setting their AR goals for marking period 2 in library class over the past week. Students will have until Friday, January 31st to reach their goal for marking period 2. Please ask your child what they selected for their new goal and why. After discussing the goal with your child, please sign and return the bottom portion of the blue reading goal reminder. If you have any concerns about the goal your child selected, please contact his or her classroom teacher or the librarian, Ms. Stokes.

Family Library Night
Family Library Night was held on Wednesday, November 13th from 4-6pm with our biggest turnout yet. Families choose free books to keep at home and checked out library books. At 5:30, third-grade reading specialist Mrs. DiJoseph presented on The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and other books by Kate DiCamillo. Mrs. DiJoseph read this book with her daughter and they both agreed it was one of the best books they had ever read. If you couldn't make it, be sure to check out the book trailer for this highly recommended book. The next Family Library Night will be on Wed., January 8th.

First Open Library Night of the Year
Many families visited the library on our first Open Library Night of the year, which was held on Wednesday, October 9th from 4-6pm. Families checked out books and chose books to keep from the Book Exchange. Some students took AR quizzes and one student even reached her goal! Also, our Guest Reader, fifth-grade teacher Mrs. Djakovich, shared one of her favorite children's books, The One and Only Ivan, a heartwarming tale based on the story of a real gorilla named Ivan who lived an the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Arcade.
