Battle of the Books
Twenty-two fifth-graders competed in this year's Battle of Books, which included four different team challenges based on the books The Maze of Bones, The Westing Game and The Gollywhopper Games. Congratulations to Mrs. McCann's team, this year's champions. At this morning's award ceremony, the champions were awarded trophies and all participating students were given goody bags and a book of their choice. Congratulations to all students who participated in this year's Battle of the Books!

Recognizing Top Readers
On Wednesday, June 11th, thirty-five students attended a special “Breakfast with the Principal” for earning 200 points or more, the highest recognition level in our AR program. This was the most students that we have ever had attend this event! We traveled again this year to Monkey See, Monkey Do... Children’s Bookstore in Clarence, where students enjoyed breakfast, learned how to "write for their dreams" from local children’s author Tim O'Shei and selected a book of their choice (which many students began reading on the bus ride back to school). It was a special and memorable event to recognize our most enthusiastic and dedicated readers.
